City of Lancaster issued the following announcement on Aug. 12.
The City of Lancaster has updated its mask policy in accordance with recent CDC guidance in response to Lancaster County’s rising community transmission rates, effective August 12.
“The best way to keep yourself, your family, and your coworkers safe and avoid the serious medical conditions (including death) that can be caused by COVID-19 is to get vaccinated. Those interested in getting vaccinated should go to www.vaccines.gov/search or call 1-800-232-0233 to learn where to get vaccinated,” said Mayor Danene Sorace.
All visitors regardless of vaccination status, and staff who are not vaccinated, must wear a mask while inside of any City building. Fully vaccinated staff may wear a mask if they choose but are not mandated to do so at this time.
The policy applies in all City facilities including, but not limited to, City Hall, the Police Station, Treasury, the Lancaster City Visitor Center, and the Recycling Drop Off Center.
