Pennsylvania Senate Republicans have re-elected Senator Ryan Aument as the Majority Whip. This decision was made alongside the selection of other key leadership positions, including Sen. Kim Ward for interim President Pro Tempore and Sen. Joe Pittman for Majority Leader.

In a statement following his re-election, Aument expressed his commitment to advancing a conservative agenda in Pennsylvania. "Pennsylvanians sent a strong message from the ballot box on November 5th by voting to maintain the Republican majority in the PA Senate," he said. He emphasized that the leadership team is prepared to advocate on behalf of Pennsylvanians and act as a check on House Democrats and Governor Shapiro.

Aument outlined several priorities for the upcoming legislative session, focusing on pro-growth economic policies, education reforms, affordable housing plans, and public safety proposals. He highlighted the need for economic policies that create job opportunities with sustainable wages and benefits.

The senator also addressed the importance of housing availability in communities like Lancaster County and stressed the necessity of an effective education system. "Creating a shared, bipartisan vision for 21st-century education that will prepare all students to succeed in a globalized economy" is among his goals.

Public safety remains a significant concern according to an August 2024 poll of likely Pennsylvania voters, which identified crime and drugs as top issues. Aument called for more support for law enforcement to enhance community protection.

Despite acknowledging challenges posed by divided government, Aument reaffirmed his dedication to delivering results for Pennsylvanians during his second term as Majority Whip. "Together, we can bring change to Pennsylvania and enact worthwhile policies," he concluded.
