Senator Ryan Aument has announced the allocation of nearly $8 million in state grants for Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The funding comes from the Public School Facility Improvement Grant Program (PSFIG) and the Local Share Account (LSA) program, both administered by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, an independent agency under the Department of Community and Economic Development.

Senator Aument expressed his support for these initiatives, stating, "I was proud to help advocate on behalf of these projects that will make much-needed infrastructure improvements across Lancaster County." He emphasized the importance of services such as clean water, safe roads, efficient sewer services, and modernized facilities in ensuring community well-being.

The grants will fund more than a dozen projects through the CFA’s LSA Program. This program utilizes gaming revenue from casinos to support public interest projects focused on community improvement and economic development. Notable allocations include $1 million to Columbia Borough for renovating a public works facility and $772,510 to East Hempfield Township for United Disability Services Foundation's vehicle purchase to aid client transportation.

Other significant recipients are Akron Borough with $245,878 for municipal garage renovations and Earl Township with $225,000 for sewer pumping station upgrades. Additionally, Manheim Township received funds for law enforcement vehicle purchases and water storage tank installation.

Furthermore, two projects were funded via the PSFIG Program. Hempfield School District was awarded $1.5 million for roof repairs at educational facilities, while Lancaster County Career and Technology Center received over $632,000 for similar work at its campuses.

These grants aim to address various infrastructure needs within Lancaster County communities.
