Grants approved to improve safety and mental health in 99th district schools

State Representative David H. Zimmerman | Pennsylvania 99th Legislative District

State Representative Dave Zimmerman has announced that the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency’s School Safety and Security Committee has approved grants to enhance school safety and mental health support in six schools within the 99th District.

Zimmerman emphasized the importance of providing students with secure learning environments, stating, "Our students deserve every opportunity to succeed, and that includes safe spaces to learn and grow." He expressed satisfaction with the funding awarded to local schools, believing it will contribute significantly to a sense of security for students, faculty, and staff.

The schools benefiting from these grants include Cocalico School District receiving $153,135; Conrad Weiser Area School District with $145,862; Eastern Lancaster County School District obtaining $151,895; Governor Mifflin School District granted $176,729; Pequea Valley School District awarded $125,851; and Wilson School District securing $217,917.
