State Representative Dave Zimmerman has announced over $372,000 in grants for fire companies and emergency service providers within his district. Zimmerman emphasized the importance of proper funding for emergency responders, stating, "Our emergency responders answer the call no matter the time of day or the weather. They work tirelessly to keep our communities safe." He added that these grants are crucial for funding training and equipment.
The grant recipients from the 99th Legislative District include several local fire companies and ambulance services. Notable allocations include $40,322 to Cumru Township Volunteer Fire Association and $30,000 to New Holland Ambulance Association. Other beneficiaries such as Adamstown Fire Co., Brecknock Township Fire Co., and Caernarvon Fire Co. each received $16,322.
These funds are part of a legislative grant program managed by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and Office of the State Fire Commissioner (OSFC). Eligible projects encompass facility construction or renovation, equipment purchase or repair, training initiatives, and debt reduction. All applicants meeting OSFC requirements receive funding upon filing a grant agreement with OSFC.
