Rep. Brett Miller announced that three state grants, amounting to over $3.2 million, have been awarded to communities within the 41st Legislative District for essential safety and infrastructure projects.
"Each of these grants will help to address a crucial need in our community. I commend our local officials for working to make these projects happen," Miller stated. He further expressed his satisfaction in advocating for this funding alongside State Sen. Ryan Aument.
The grants have been allocated as follows:
East Hempfield Township, representing United Disability Services Foundation, received $772,510. This funding will support the acquisition of 20 ADA-compliant vehicles equipped with specialized gear to ensure safe transportation for clients throughout the community.
Columbia Borough was granted $1,000,000 for the renovation of their newly acquired public works facility.
Hempfield School District secured $1,500,000 for roof repairs at Landisville Primary Center and Landisville Middle School facilities located in East Hempfield Township. The project aims to extend the lifespan of each roof by 20-25 years at half the cost of a complete replacement.
The Commonwealth Financing Authority gave final approval for these grants during their meeting on Tuesday.
