What a Great Year of Preschool

Musicfestival

St Peter's Lutheran Church issued  the following announcement on May 25.

2021-22 school year was a great year for St. Peter’s Preschool!

Our enrollment was full with 64 students and we are already full for next year, with a waiting list. St. Peter’s Preschool has always been known for their amazing staff and this year was no exception. We were fully staffed, with some returning favorites and some fresh new faces. I cannot say enough wonderful things about these women. Their patience, flexibility, creativity and caring cannot be measured. We are Blessed to have them.

Our extended lunch program was called Prayground and involved more church ministry. It took place Monday, Wednesday and Friday from noon until 1:30. The Program was a huge hit and filled so quickly, that we decided to offer it every day next school year. This year the church generously donated new children’s bibles to all of our graduating Prayground students.

Through some small community outreach efforts, we were able to help a few organizations this past year. We collected aluminum tabs and some wish list items for the Ronald McDonald House in Hershey. We also collected items for Ryder Getchis’s “Smile Packages”, which are bags of goodies to help children that go through cancer treatment. We partnered with Millersville University and were able to offer 7 of their students a placement here last year, for their first Early Childhood observation experience. We also donated a large amount of gently used toys and books to numerous organizations here in Lancaster.

We started a preschool scholarship with a large donation from one of our parishioners. We were able to utilize it this past year to help one of our students pay their tuition. We also had an anonymous donor come forward and offer to help a full-time student with their tuition next year. Our fundraising involved selling t-shirts and a MOD Pizza event.

The church and sextons have been very generous with their building and helping us maintain our classroom spaces. Our Duck and Lamb Rooms received new coats of paint and the Duck Room had a new floor installed. We set up a new children’s library and music room this year, which the teachers and children love!

I have had a wonderful first year as Director here and I am looking forward to what next year holds!

Thank you for this amazing opportunity,

Heather Cramer
