City of Lancaster issued the following announcement on Dec. 21.
On Monday, December 20, the Manheim Township Commissioners announced the hire of Scott Little as their next Fire Chief, to begin February 7, 2022. Chief Little has served the City of Lancaster as Chief of Fire since May 2018, bringing his experience, energy, and vision to benefit the city and our residents. Under his leadership, the City has made an unprecedented investment in apparatus, equipment, infrastructure — including the first new fire stations in 50 years — as well as training and professional development that supports the men and women of the Fire Bureau and their commitment to protect the lives and properties of the residents of and visitors to Lancaster City.
“Chief Little has been a trusted leader in the City, moving the Fire Bureau forward further and faster than I could have hoped. Manheim Township is fortunate to gain his service and I look forward to continuing our strong intermunicipal collaboration in fire and public safety,” said Mayor Sorace.
Chief Little will serve in his current capacity until January 14, 2022, at which time the City will name an interim Chief and conduct a nationwide search for a permanent successor.
