St Peter's Lutheran Church issued the following announcement on Jul. 15.
This fall, St. Peter’s musicians will regather to make music together in vocal and handbell choirs. Below is a list of opportunities to get involved. For more information or if you have questions, please email Adam Lefever Hughes, the Director of Music. All are welcome!
Herald Choir
The Herald Choir is for singers 9th grade and up and rehearses in the music room on Thursday from 7:00-8:00pm. Sung music is typically written for 2-4 parts. The choir provides musical leadership at the 10:45am traditional service most weeks from September through May.
Canticle Choir
The Canticle Choir is for singers 9th grade and up and rehearses in the music room the last two Sundays of the month from 9:15-9:45am. Sung music is typically written for 1-2 parts. The choir provides musical leadership at the 8:00am traditional service on the first Sunday of the month and Easter Sunday.
Youth Choir
The Youth Choir is for singers from 5th through 8th grade and rehearses in the music room on Thursdays from 6:30-6:55pm. Sung music is typically written for 1-2 parts. The choir provides musical leadership about once a month during a traditional service (sometimes 8:00, sometimes 10:45).
Children’s Choir
The children’s Choir is for singers from 1st through 4th grade and rehearses in the music room on Thursdays from 6:00-6:25pm. Sung music is often learned by rote. Emphasis is put on the fundamentals of singing in a choir. The choir provides musical leadership about once a month during a traditional service (sometimes 8:00, sometimes 10:45).
St. Peter’s Ringers
St. Peter’s Ringers is for experienced handbell ringers and rehearses in the music room on Mondays from 7:00-8:00pm. The ensemble rings during worship about once a month during a traditional service (sometimes 8:00, sometimes 10:45). The group also provides extra music during festival services.
Exsultate Ringers
The Exsultate Ringers is for novice to intermediate handbell ringers and rehearses in the music room on Mondays from 6:00-6:45pm. The ensemble rings during worship about once a month during a traditional service (sometimes 8:00, sometimes 10:45). The group also provides extra music during festival services.
