LAMPETER-STRASBURG SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL: Seniors Named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists

Scholarship

Lampeter-Strasburg Senior High School issued the following announcement.

Seniors Liana Howe, Isaiah Lamison, and Wesley Leaman are semifinalists in the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program

Three L-S seniors have been named as Semifinalists in the 66th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. Performance on the 2019 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) placed them among the highest-scoring one percent of students nationwide. Over 1.5 million juniors from nearly 21,000 high schools took the test, with only 16,000 receiving the semifinalist designation.

Congratulations to these academically-talented students:

Liana Howe - Liana is the daughter of Thomas Howe of Ephrata and Pamela Kinsey of Lancaster. She is involved in marching band, concert band, track and field, and National Honor Society. She is also the Class of 2021’s School Board representative. Liana plans to attend college to major in environmental studies.

Isaiah Lamison - Isaiah is the son of Brian and Megan Lamison of Refton. His activities include marching band, concert band, National Honor Society, and the cross country and track and field teams. Isaiah plans to attend college to study software engineering.

Wesley Leaman - Wesley is the son of Dwight and Sheila Leaman of Willow Street. He has been a part of the L-S High School band, chorus (including as the choir accompanist), and the Fall Play cast. Wesley plans to attend college to study engineering.

Liana, Isaiah, and Wesley will now have the opportunity to advance to become finalists and 2021 Merit Scholars. Winners will be announced in the spring.
