State grants approved for water and sewer projects in Lancaster district

State Rep. Keith Greiner | Pennsylvania 43rd Legislative District

Rep. Keith Greiner of Lancaster has announced the approval of nearly $1.5 million in state grants for water and sewer infrastructure improvements within the 43rd Legislative District. The funding, approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA), is part of efforts to enhance local infrastructure through the COVID-19 American Recovery Plan Act (ARPA) H20 PA fund and the PA Small Water and Sewer fund.

The grants include $746,508 allocated to New Holland Borough for replacing outdated water mains along Locust Street. Additionally, Upper Leacock Township Municipal Authority will receive $365,545 for a project aimed at improving its water distribution system. Furthermore, Leacock Township Municipal Authority has been granted $370,885 to replace the UV disinfection system at its municipal wastewater treatment plant.

“These are much-needed infrastructure initiatives for which I have provided support and have strongly advocated for the funding of these projects,” said Rep. Greiner. He expressed satisfaction with the approval of funds, emphasizing their importance in ensuring community health, safety, and quality of life.
