HARRISBURG – The Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) has recently given the green light to several grants totaling almost $1.5 million for water and sewer system infrastructure projects in the 43rd Legislative District, according to Rep. Keith Greiner (R-Lancaster). These grants were approved during a CFA meeting held earlier today.

The grants were awarded through the COVID-19 American Recovery Plan Act (ARPA) H20 PA fund and the PA Small Water and Sewer fund. The recipients of these grants include:

- New Holland Borough: $746,508 for the replacement of water mains along Locust Street. These water mains date back to the 1940s and are in dire need of replacement.

- Upper Leacock Township Municipal Authority: $365,545 for a water distribution system improvement project. This project aims to enhance the efficiency and reliability of the water distribution system in the township.

- Leacock Township Municipal Authority: $370,885 to replace the UV disinfection system at the municipal wastewater treatment plant. This upgrade will ensure the effective treatment of wastewater and maintain the health and safety of the community.

Representative Greiner has been a strong advocate for these infrastructure initiatives and has actively supported their funding. He expressed his satisfaction with the approval of these grants, stating, "I am pleased that this funding has been approved and will enable these communities to receive the water and sewer improvements they need to protect the health, safety, and quality of life of our residents."

These grants will not only address crucial infrastructure needs but also contribute to the overall well-being of the residents in the 43rd Legislative District. With the replacement of aging water mains, improved water distribution systems, and enhanced wastewater treatment facilities, the communities will have access to clean and reliable water and sewer services.

The grants are a testament to the commitment of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and the Commonwealth Financing Authority to prioritize the development and improvement of vital infrastructure. The funds allocated through the ARPA H20 PA fund and the PA Small Water and Sewer fund will play a significant role in ensuring the sustainability and resilience of local water and sewer systems.

The work carried out as a result of these grants will not only benefit the current residents but also pave the way for future growth and development. Representative Greiner's dedication to securing funding for these projects highlights his commitment to serving the needs of his constituents and advancing the well-being of the community.
