Washington, D.C. – Rep. Lloyd Smucker (PA-11) voted in favor of H.R. 2811, the Limit, Save, Grow Act.
“It is critical that we exercise fiscal discipline in Washington to ensure our nation’s finances are on the right track. This legislation is a step towards putting our country on a better fiscal path and maintaining confidence in our nation’s economy. It is past time for President Biden to meet with Speaker McCarthy to find agreement on a path forward. The president has served in government for nearly fifty years, including 36 years a United States Senator, and his unwillingness to negotiate is an astonishing failure of leadership,” said Rep. Smucker.
“This vote is not one that I take lightly, however, the policies included in this legislation will save taxpayer dollars by limiting spending and growing our economy. The legislation would increase domestic energy production to lessen inflated costs for families across the nation. It will end the president’s deeply unfair student loan giveaway. Executive overreach will be stopped by requiring congressional approval of regulations which have a substantial impact on the economy. These policies will move our nation in the right direction,” continued Rep. Smucker.
