Hempfield School District issued the following announcement.
After consultation with the PA Department of Health, the 14-day rolling period count for each of our buildings will reset to zero (0) because our schools were closed for a time period that allowed for additional cleaning and contact tracing cases prior to the schools being closed. Per the PA Department of Health, any reportable cases prior to the restart are to be counted in the previous 14-day count. Each building’s new rolling 14-day period will begin with the first new case that is reported to the PA Department of Health after the building opens.
As a result of the information above, the reporting chart on our website linked here, has been updated effective today, Friday, December 18, 2020.
Thank you to our students, staff, and the Hempfield community for continuing to practice social distancing, wearing facial coverings, and monitoring their own health. As a reminder, if your student is not feeling well, please keep them home. In addition, if your student your someone in the household tests positive for COVID-19, please contact your building administrator or school nurse so we can identify any other individuals who may have been in close contact in the school setting.
