Conestoga Valley School District issued the following announcement.
With the weather forecast calling for some significant snow from tomorrow afternoon (Dec. 16) through Thursday morning (Dec. 17), we are preparing for alternate schedules for those days.
In order to be proactive, and by planning based on the forecast holding true (6” to 12”+ with a start time after 12 p.m.), we will have an early dismissal tomorrow, Wednesday, December 16. Secondary campuses will be dismissed at 11:15 a.m. and elementary campuses will be dismissed at 12:15 p.m. Our goal is to get all of our students home safely by 1:00 pm. Again, with this plan being based upon a forecast, we will ask for your continued patience, grace, understanding, and flexibility.
By tomorrow (Wednesday) evening, we should be able to determine whether a normal “snow day” will be in order for Thursday, so please expect a notification by 5:00 pm tomorrow night regarding Thursday, December 17. As I mentioned last night at our CV Board meeting, this will be a day to shovel (and don’t forget about your neighbors), to build snowmen and make snow angels, to stay inside and bake cookies or read a book just for fun, to spend time unplugged from school, and to basically do what you would “normally” do on a snow day.
As the weather hits, stay safe, look out for your neighbors, and have fun in the snow!
